Andrew Bogut and Marc Jackson Make NABC All-District Team

FSALT LAKE CITY - Utah's Andrew Bogut was named to the first team and Marc Jackson to the second team in District 13 when the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced its Division I All-District Teams.

Bogut, a 7-foot sophomore from Melbourne, Australia, ranks first in the NCAA in rebounds per game (11.9), third in field goal percentage (64.7) and 15th in points per game (20.5). He has had double-doubles in 17 of the 25 games this season and ranks first in the nation in that category. Bogut is also averaging 2.56 assists per game, and has 48 blocked shots and 28 steals.

Jackson, a 6-1 senior guard from Salt Lake City, is the Utes' second-best scorer (10.8 ppg) and assists leader (3.48 apg). He ranks 49th in the nation in free throw percentage (84.4) and leads the Utes in three-point percentage (49.5 percent), making 46-of-93 from beyond the arc.

Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, the 150 student-athletes from 15 districts are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-American Team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2004-05 season.

Bogut and Jackson have led the Runnin' Utes to 17-consecutive wins, tying the third-longest winning streak in school history. Utah is ranked tied for the 13th in this week's ESPN/USA Today poll and ranked 14th by the Associated Press with a 22-3 record. The Utes are in first place in the Mountain West Conference with a 10-0 record heading into its game at second-place Air Force on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. (MST).
